Disturbing Video Reveals Instant Officers Get Knifed in Ambush
One ranking policeman who jumped to the help of a partner that was assaulted by a knife attacker has been awarded the Monarch's Honor for Courage.
Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with 27-yr-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he pressed a knife to the neck of his colleague Sgt Marc Foster.
Brown began the violence as the officers and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver subsequent to a vehicle incident in Whalley Range in July 2023.
Brown attacked with blade both Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster before Police Constable Wolstencroft stunned him with a electric weapon.

Bodyworn and dashboard camera footage shared by the force showed Brown, who was dressed in dark clothing with a hood up, run up to Sergeant Foster from behind with a blade extended.
He ran into the policeman who stumbled and fell to the street, after which Sgt Ansell stepped in and attempted to subdue him to the ground even though being continually attacked with the blade.
Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and awaited a safe opportunity, ending the fight to an conclusion.
Sergeant Ansell was heard stating: "I need help on my neck now, I got knifed in the neck."
Sergeant Ansell sustained multiple lacerations to his neck and further cuts to his limbs and torso, while Sgt Foster received knife wounds.
Officials reported Sgt Foster employed his hands to control his fellow officer's hemorrhaging before emergency responders reached the scene.
The latest award comes subsequent to the law enforcement team won departmental Bravery Awards in fall 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the area officer association in spring 2024.
They additionally received a Area Bravery Award in summer 2024.
"The efforts of the entire team eventually protected themselves and resulted in no civilians experienced any injuries."
